If you have an iTouch or iPhone, then this is perfect for you! It’s this really neat app that gives you practice NCLEX questions including with the coveted rationales! It even breaks it down into the categories of the NCLEX so you know where you need to practice. Usually it runs for $20, but you can enter and possibly win for free!

So, enter by next Tuesday (the 25th) at midnight and a winner will be randomly selected. Enter by leaving a comment with your ideal way to study. For me? It’s in the living room, laying on my stomach with a coffee or Dr Pepper and answering questions.
Good luck!
Love,

I’m so happy I found your blog!
My fav way to study is at a big counter or desk with everything I could possibly need lined up in front of me. That way I avoid the procrastination of getting up to get something and getting distracted along the way.
Yeah, I gotta figure that out that studying business. Junior 1 starts in 27 days!
On the floor leaning against the couch using the foot stool to eliminate the glare. With a BIG cup of bourbon and diet coke next to me because that’s the only way I am okay to go to bed by 1, which I need to get the rest necessary to get that stuff processed.
My favorite place used to be at the dining room table with the TV playing the ambient music channel in the background, but now that I have my desk set up near a window, that will be my special study place. But I will have to find another way to get my ambient music. I hate silence!
For me – it’s sitting ether on the floor surrounded by my books and writing all my notes out by hand and color coded. ( this is for seriouse studying) With my mug ( which is a ceramic quart size coffee cup) filled with hot tea and the pot on the stove to make more.
If it’s a little more on the light side – reading, chapter outlines, notes and such. It’s off to the local coffee shop where I will find me a nice corner booth and sit to make notes ( once again long hand) with a large cup of tea.
I need absolute quiet and no distractions…in a place that’s comfy but not too comfy or I will fall asleep
Diet Coke is essential and I work best at the kitchen table, where I have lots of room to spread out. I try to prepare the table with everything I need first to minimize interruptions and distractions.
I’m liking all these study habits! I might have to try a few of them out. And kudos to the caffeine that keeps us all going!

My favorite way to study is to take an unlined sheet of paper out of the recycling bin and make a mind map of each major concept as I go through my textbook or powerpoint slides. For example, if I’m studying asthma, I write ASTHMA in the middle of the page with branches out for pathophysiology, treatment, complications, patient teaching etc, and fill it out as I go. It ends up looking kind of messy, but it really helps me understand and memorize the material.
I like to use PowerPoint to make my own slides, have my friend quiz me, writing or drawing things out by hand, or if I REALLY need to get things done, go somewhere really quiet to avoid distractions. I like having all of my textbooks near me so I don’t have to move (and get distracted) to look something up. Dr. Pepper or Diet Coke, depending on what I feel like, is an absolute must.
I love reading your blog, keep up the good work! I can relate to you in so many of your posts.
For me, it’s in the corner of the couch, legs curled up under me. Cat propped between me and one of the pillows on one side, and books and notes strewn out on the other, with the laptop on a tv tray in front of me.
Tall glass of water sitting some place where I’m probably most likely to knock it over. (usually no caffeine…If I’m that tired then a nap is in order before resuming studying)
I record the audio for all the lectures, so I rotate between audio, notes, and books/articles as I reinforce material.
Oh yea, about 80% of the time I’m in my jammies
{tee hee}
